On a recent 3 day holiday, a large group of the BYU China Teachers met in Hangzhou and Suzhou to visit some parks, waterways and tourist attractions. Ann took lots of pictures of people we shared the tourist sites with. Kind of a fun glimpse of China.

Couples in matching shirts is not uncommon.
Groups of men touring with matching shirts

I've got to say the near ubiquity of western clothing styles, colors, designs, logos - is amazing to me. I'm sure this is mainly the case in the larger cities, but just the same, these images could have been taken in San Francisco or St Paul. I see only the most occasional references to traditional Chinese patterns and styles.
ReplyDeleteYou were doing a peace sign in a picture. You really have been in China awhile;)!
